In May 2011, Ina and the western France Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) signed a partnership agreement on ACO footage of all the best moments of the legendary Le Mans race. The images complete those already managed by Ina and enable Ina and ACO to offer a very broad-ranging collection on the “24 heures du Mans”, from 1906 to the present day.

The Le Mans attraction

The Le Mans race is known all over the world, is one of the oldest endurance races, and has a very strong image. The spirit of Le Mans is a blend of tradition, glamour and risk-taking. Every year in June the atmosphere around the race track becomes electric. Hundreds of thousands of racing fans from all corners of the world and from many different backgrounds flock to the track.

Footage of the 24-hour race

The images cover all aspects of the event, from the race itself to the atmosphere off the course. There is footage of exceptionally talented drivers like Olivier Gendebien, Henri Pescarolo, Jacky Ickx and Tom Kristensen, who won the race eight times, and celebrities like Steve Mc Queen and Paul Newman. You can watch the tests, see the crews, the “off”, the fights to win, the weather and its effects, the race at night and, of course, the winners on the podium.
