Rapido Télévision: from Rock’n Roll to the Pop attitude

In 2010, the television company Rapido Television signed an exclusive mandate with Ina entrusting it with the preservation and sales of a catalogue of 200 legendary programmes: RAPIDO, broadcast on TF1 and Canal+ from 1987 to 1992, and ROCK REPORT shown on Antenne 2 in 1986 and 1987. The company also made a number of very popular programmes in English for BBC1.

With Antoine de Caunes, revisit the RAPIDO years…

Over 750 reportages and studio productions: producer and rock fanatic Antoine de Caunes does the interviewing, getting guests to confide in him and reveal their "secrets", all presented at a frantic pace, with clips, or groups, who have since become cult, performing live.

A man of eclectic tastes, Antoine de Caunes reviewed most of the major music influences that are still with us 20 years later: Pop, Reggae, Rap, Electro, Hip Hop, French Rock…

… and revise your classics with some of the legendary pop stars of the time

Take a trip down memory lane – or discover: Prince, The Cure and their “Just like Heaven”, which became the theme tune for “Les Enfants du Rock”, Boy George at the anti-Apartheid Concert… the fall of the Berlin Wall to the sounds of “Satisfaction”, Jimmy Somerville, RuPaul and Dee-Lite… and portraits of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and David Bowie.

“Our parents hated rock music, which gave us an additional reason to love it, and now our kids adore it. For the first time in many years – I'll let the specialists put a date on it – we like the same music.” Antoine de Caunes, Dictionnaire amoureux du Rock, Plon, October 2010
