The Vietnam War, the extension of the Indochina war, broke out in 1961 against the Vietcong, an offshoot of the Vietminh, with the naval incident the Gulf of Tonkin.The war reached a peak in 1968 with the Têt offsensive and came to an end in 1975 when the Thieu regime in the South capitulated. The collection also covers the post-war period .
